Life as we know…

I have made the decision to go back to school and will be starting next week.  I have no idea how I will keep up with all that is on my plate, but I hope to be able to continue posting pictures and playing along.  Unfortunately there’s only so much time in the day, so some things will have a lower sense of priority.  This being one.  I have learned so much and appreciate all the wonderful comments.  As time permits, I will visit and post pictures.

A red bellied woodpecker!  The middle is a little blown out, might have to play with it in lightroom a little.  I sit and watch my birds all day.  I don’t know why I’m so intrigued by them.

I swear I have a bird sanctuary in my back yard!  I get a wide variety and just this year we started getting woodpeckers.  This is a downy woodpecker.

They’re still at it!  This picture is a lot better in that I got them both squabbling!!!  It’s a lot clearer even if you can’t see their eyes.  They are very amusing to watch.  I’m hoping soon to see some eggs in the nest.

This is pretty freaky looking, but it’s what my husband wanted.  He got his first big 10 point this past season and instead of the traditional mount he went for the European mount.  It’s where they put the skull in a box with bugs and let the bugs eat the flesh and then the skull is bleached.  It’s actually not really gross, it’s kind of cool…but I honestly don’t know where he thinks he’s going to put it.  He is making a plague to mount it on, but I just don’t like this type of stuff for home decor.

Another knitted project I finished!  I made the Easter Bunny after my family convinced me I could do it very easily.  I’m very happy with the way it turned out.  I’ve only been knitting since December and really having a ball with it.

Looking up!  I was hoping to see some little birds or at least the mother sitting on the eggs.  No such luck, but was really impressed with the way this photo turned out.

I was surprised how close this little black capped chickadee got to me.  It literally flew about 6 inches above my head and landed on a branch that was so close to me.  I then found it on this tree stump high up.  I just loved how this picture turned out and the fact it stayed there long enough.  Not a shy bird at all!

Another flower I saw while walking in the woods.  A true sign that spring is here!  It certainly was a beautiful day!
